Hello, my name is Felicia Morrisett. I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. This is my 6th year as a teacher and I have been lucky enough to teach all six of those years as a 4th grade teacher and as a Greyhound. I graduated from Marmaduke in 2004. I roamed this very same hall as a 4th grader myself, so I truly understand how amazing it is to be apart of such an incredible school, as a student and now as a teacher. I teach English, Spelling, and writing. I love, love, love all three subjects but I have a passion for writing and it is my goal every year to make even the most stubborn writers end up loving it.
I have been married to my wonderful husband Bradley for 12 years. We have one handsome young man, Hunter. As a family we enjoy the simple things. Some of our favorite hobbies are shooting hoops, laying in the hammock, and driving the gravel roads with windows rolled down or on the Ranger. My son and my husband love Chevy trucks. We love spending time as a family. This year we were able to go on our second mission trip. We went to New Orleans with the youth from our church. It was an awesome experience for all of us and we cannot wait to go back.
We attend Marmaduke 1st Baptist Church. I teach youth (7th-12th) Wednesday and Sunday nights. I have also just added a Sunday school class for Jr. High on Sunday mornings, which I am pumped about. We love participating in Church activities and now that we have gotten our first taste of going on a mission trip we hope to be able to go on more. We are a Christian family who love Jesus and cannot wait to get more opportunities to share him with the world. However; I feel that my 4th graders are my mission field as well. I love these babies from the moment they step foot in my room and they are my kiddos even after they walk out on the last day of school.
Teaching at Marmaduke is literally my dream job. Some people dream of being a rock star or a doctor but this is what I have dreamed of being since I sat in my fourth grade classroom all those many years ago. My dream came true when Mrs. Audrea handed me those keys 6 years ago and I walked in my very own room. This is my stage and I genuinely love just about every second of it.
I was taught from a young age that the best kids come from Marmaduke and I still believe that with my whole heart. Marmaduke is not perfect and neither is our school but I can promise you that we will love your kiddos with every ounce in us. I am so blessed to be living out my dream in these halls with these incredible people that I am surrounded by. I am excited about the year to come and cannot wait to see what it brings.
